The music in my life

Hi everybody! Today I will talk about a very special and exciting topic for me, which has been present in my life for as long as I can remember: my experience with music.

I came in contact with music thanks to my father. I remember that when I was a child I always saw my father listening to bands like Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin, which made me slowly approach music, especially rock. I also remember that my father always took me to the San Felipe 's theater to see the rock and blues bands, something I liked quite a bit because the atmosphere and music played by the musicians on their shows were amazing to me.

However, my deep relationship with music began the day that my father gave me my first guitar, at Christmas 2015. It was a very wonderful moment for me, I was imagining that I would be a rockstar hahaha. It's been many years since I started playing guitar and   I've learned a lot about music. Sometimes I doubt very much about whether I'm good as a guitarist and musician, but I love playing, learning, improvising and composing new songs.

Music is also important to me because it has helped me form important bonds with other people. I met my two best friends thanks to music, in fact they also play musical instruments: one is a bassist and the other is a drummer. Every time we've met we'ven talked about our musical tastes, even for a while we had a funk rock band where we played a lot of Red Hot Chilli Peppers songs. I have very beautiful memories with both my best friends and music.

I could hardly describe myself without considering music, as I consume it for most of the day. When I do universitary assignments I listen to my favorite bands and in my free time I dedicate myself to play the guitar or looking for new musical artists. It's an essential part of me, it is even one of the reasons why I decided studying journalism.

I think music is the most direct art, it comes through the ear, and it goes to the heart.

Oh! I almost forgot! I haven't told you about the kind of music I listen to. When I was little I listened a lot of rock, heavy metal and punk rock music; today I hear a little bit of all the musical genres. However, in recent months I have been listening to a lot of psychedelic rock, indie rock, funk, grunge, classical music and jazz (dude, i love jazz, is beautiful). Artists and musical groups that I consider very influential and important to me are Alice in Chains, TOOL, Luis Alberto Spinetta, Chancho en Piedra, Tame Impala,  Iron Maiden, Radiohead, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and the most important, Pink Floyd. <3

Finally, I'd like to share some of my favorite songs:

  1. Hi!
I really like your musical taste! In my case, I love classics like Elton John, Billy Joel, Queen, The Beatles, The Clash. But I also love modern pop such as Shawn Mendes, Sabrina Carpenter, Pablo Alborán, Morat and lately Olivia Rodrigo (lol), I think she’s a talented songwriter, and her voice is beautiful. As you mentioned, music is an importance aspect of life and it’s also art, you can find music everywhere! (this reminds me of a movie: August Rush. It’s very good he he).
I enjoyed your blog!! I wish you good luck with your music, don’t give up and keep learning! Greetings!

  2. Practice makes a master. Do not get discouraged thinking if you are good or not, continue. You look a lot like my son, he's been a guitarist since he was 12 years old, and he has the same musical tastes as you. At home we listen to Jazz a lot thanks to him. Tool too. Of all the bands that he has shown me, I prefer King Crimson and the song Epitaph ... Oh my god !!!!

  3. Hello! I adore your musical tastes hahaha
In fact we share several tastes, I really like RHCP, Tool, Tame Impala, Iron Maiden, Radiohead, etc.
Unlike you, and I don't know why, my parents never instilled music in me, it was thanks to my best friend that I discovered rock and metal. It's funny because my dad loves rock and metal hahaha.
Anyway, from your favorite songs I LOVE Shine On You Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd, Let It Happen by Tame Impala and obviously Ode to Viceroy by Mac DeMarco.
And I think I can consider Tame Impala, Three Days Grace, ac/dc, The Beatles as mentioned by a classmate and One Direction as my favorite bands lol
